About Our Department

The Collections Services Department at FIU Law Library manages all aspects of the library's print and digital resources to support legal education, scholarship, and practice.

We ensure the FIU Law Library has the correct materials in appropriate formats to meet the diverse needs of our law school community, working diligently behind the scenes to provide access to essential legal information resources.

From selecting and acquiring new materials to organizing and preserving existing collections, we support the curriculum, faculty research, and student success across all areas of legal study.

Our team handles ordering, receiving, and processing of all library materials, managing vendor relationships and licensing agreements.

Cataloging

We create detailed metadata records for all legal materials, ensuring they can be easily discovered through the library's search systems.

Electronic Resources

We manage access to digital legal databases, e-books, and online journals, ensuring seamless connectivity for faculty and students.

Preservation

We implement strategies to ensure the longevity of both physical and digital legal collections for future generations of law students.
